Not so long ago there was a big expansion of chia seeds. The Serbian people are not so well known as someone who is a fan of healthy food and a healthy diet. The diet in my country is mostly based on meat and carbohydrates, and especially in the winter and during the Christmas holidays, you can find plenty of unhealthy food.

Serbia is pretty family oriented country and family gatherings during the weekend are one of the most important ritual, especially Sunday lunch. Parents and grandparents belonging to the older generation and the traditional way of life don’t accept fact that manu on theirs dining table is not so good for people health.

And in my case is like that. My mom had a hard time accepting my new diet. She was offended because I refused to eat all that food which make me more weight. In previous posts I have writen how I lost 22 kg and you can found on my blog that experience.

Readers of my blog know that I describe a certain carpet through personal experience so maybe new visitors will be surprised what this story has to do with chia seeds.

World tennis champion Novak Djokovic is also serbian but which make him more special is because he is vegan. This fact was difficult for the Serbs to accept. They could not understand that he could train and win tournaments without eating traditional Serbian food. At first, many condemned him, predicting his downfall because he didn’t eat meat and bad carbohydrates.

Novak Djokovic is the most popular person in Serbia, we call him son of Serbia. Serbs felt betrayed, their hero doesn’t eat meat and other traditional serbian food.

Novak Djokovic was the owner of vegan restaurant in Monte Carlo. His wife started to share vegan recipes on social media, showed the richness of vegan food, and that we can also eat healthy sweets.

One of the recipes that experienced great popularity was CHIA SEEDS PUDDING. Serbs was surprised and all the newspapers wrote about it.

My mom is big fan of Novak Djokovic and finally she realized that he is doing right thing.

My mom started helping me with my new diet, and she made me the first one Chia Seeds Pudding.

After almost two years on diet, finally I ate something sweet but healthy and that could not make me fat.

On google and youtube can be found plantty recipes how to make it Chia Seeds Pudding. Also first recipes my mom founded on youtube.

It seemed complicated at first, but only because Chia Seeds was unknown for us.

Now, chia seeds is my daily groceries, I start my new day with chia seeds and soya milk.

The seeds also high in fiber, which can help to lower high blood pressure and, in turn, reduce your risk of developing heart disease.

Chia Pudding Recipe Ingredients

Here’s what you’ll need to make this chia pudding recipe:

  • Chia seeds, of course! I used white chia seeds on the day I took these photos, but black chia seeds will work here too.
  • Coconut milk or almond milk – I like to use light coconut milk in this recipe because it makes the pudding extra-rich and creamy, but if you don’t have any on hand, don’t worry! Almond milk is also a great choice.
  • Maple syrup – I mix some into the chia seed pudding to sweeten it naturally. When I eat, I drizzle more maple syrup on top!
  • Cinnamon – For warm depth of flavor.
